How these two entities interact has been the crux of major societal blueprints and is negotiated the world over, from pub tables to the halls of parliament. With the help of works by Louis Andriessen („Workers Union“, 1975) and Ludwig van Beethoven (Sinfonie Nr. 3 „Eroica“) the ensemble takes on this ever-present discussion. The composers explore the margins between freedom and conformity with the resources of the music and artistically examine the implementation of political visions.
